They started very early in the production of very cheap revolvers which are
similair to Hood. Probably Hood purchased the stock and machinery of Continental
Arms Co. about 1870 and continued to manufacture their revolvers. .22 caliber, 5 shot pepperbox, 2 ½" barrel, marked "Continental Arms Co. Norwich Ct. Patented Aug. 28, 1866" (Charles Converse's and Samuel S. Hopkins patent, assigned to the Bacon Manufacturing Company), made from 1866 to ? Sometimes marked "Ladies Companion" right side with ivory grips, right side .32 r.f. caliber, 5 shot single action pepperbos, spur trigger |
